Claudette B. Pickens, CPA, CFE, CGMA, MBA
Ms. Pickens received her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Indiana and Connecticut (inactive in CT). She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. Her career experience encompasses in excess of 38 years of accounting and administrative services in various industries including education, healthcare, not-for-profit, and the private sector.
Ms. Pickens is currently serving as Chief Financial Officer for a private school in Indiana. She also manages the school’s financial aid operations that require continuous communication with parents and on-going collaboration and compliance with the Indiana Department of Education regulations.
Other experience:
As a member of a local organization’s executive management team she was instrumental in evaluating, documenting and implementing operational procedures for the finance, billing, and claims processing departments. She also collaborated with the technology consultants in development of reporting tools to facilitate greater operational efficiencies.
She served in senior management roles at two local public accounting firms specializing in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Connecticut. She also coordinated a collaborative investigative project with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Her private sector experience includes all aspects of managing accounting operations including financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, supervision of accounts payable, account receivable, payroll, and coordination of internal and external audits.
